Fictional Bad Boy Crushes

As a writer, I often crush hard on whatever hero that I'm writing at the time, and I had a big crush on the hero from my own super romantic, science fiction novel, LOST IN STARLIGHT. Hayden Lancaster is a sexy, alpha male with a dark secret. He's broody and protective and loyal. What's not to like?

I do like sexy, tortured heroes, so I created Dorian, the star of my adult Paranormal Romance Mystery novel, IMMORTAL ECLIPSE. He is haunted by his past, scarred by memories of an unrequited love, and now he's afraid to get close to anyone. Can my heroine heal his broken heart and help him find love again?

Other fictional bad boys that I'm so crushing on are Alcide Herveaux, a fictional character from the "The Southern Vampire Mysteries/Sookie Stackhouse Novels" by author Charlaine Harris and the HBO series, True Blood. This guy is smoking hot! Oh, Alcide, where have you been all my life?

How could I not add these two major hotties? The CW's SUPERNATURAL TV show and novels star these two talented actors, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. Dean and Sam Winchester are two brothers that travel the country in a badass impala battling evil along the way. (Hey, I had to give their car some love, too. hehe)  I'd go hang with Dean and Sam in a heartbeat...

Big crush on the sexy Eric Northman, the vampire sheriff in the HBO’s TV series True Blood and a main character in the Charlene Harris novels. Eric is tall and strong and very alpha. *big sigh* Eric can bite me anytime.

I have been crushing on Fitzwilliam Darcy, generally referred to as Mr. Darcy, since I first read Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice and watched the 2005 film by the same name. He is an archetype of the brooding, romantic hero. Maybe one day I'll meet my own Darcy...

Love me some Derek Hale from MTV's Teen Wolf and Superman & Lois. In Teen Wolf, he comes from a family who happens to be pack of werewolves and inherited his werewolf nature from his parents. He's sexy, tough, badass, and yet vulnerable. Hot werewolves are yum!

My next character crush is on Damon Salvatore, the anti-hero of The Vampire Diaries TV Show and the novels by L.J. Smith. Bad boy. Tough Guy. All around swoon-worthy. Enough said! He is portrayed by actor, Ian Somerhalder. Elena needs to wake up and pick Damon!

In the Danika Dreary Mystery series, I have a loyal, compassionate hero named Ryker Van Allen, who helps the heroine solve crimes.

The ultra sexy and broody hero of my Charmed Chronicles series, Trent Donovan, who's also a half-human and half-demon, might struggle with his dark-side, but he's also charming, romantic, and desperately in love with Shiloh.

My number one all-time fictional character crush is on Cole Turner from the TV show, Charmed. Julian McMahon’s  portrayal of  the sexy,  attorney Cole Turner on Charmed wins the prize for my biggest crush. And the "Best Boyfriend Ever" award. Why Phoebe Halliwell couldn't forgive Cole is beyond me.

This concludes my list of romantic, sexy, bad boy fictional characters!

So which fictional book boyfriends do you find swoon-worthy?
Let me know in the comments.

  5. Girl we have the same taste! I was Team Alcide while reading the books (until the later ones, but I won't spoil it for you if you didn't keep going.)

  6. I should have added Dean Winchester, I forgot that he is also a fiction character in novels. :-)

And I've only read the first 3 books in the Sookie Stackhouse series, but love the sexual chemistry between Sookie and Alcide!

  7. I am a big fan of the television version of "Damon Salvitore", the book version, not so much. The opposite is true about "Alcide", book version is way better, same with "Eric".

And I think every woman secretly wants to marry "Mr. Darcy", and Dean Winchester!!

Thanks for visiting our blog! I'm going to propose reading and reviewing one of your books to the club, hopefully you'll see a review for it on our blog in the next couple of months!

  8. My fictional crush is Sirus Black, not as played by Gary Oldman because although he did a great job playing Sirius, he is not at all as I pictured him when I first read the HP series.

Oh and yes Khal Drogo was quite crushworthy in the book but oh my....the HBO version is even better!!

And finally, Bones from The Night Huntress series. He kind of reminded me of a sexier Russell Brand on the audio.

I love your blog's template! I don't see a way to follow you so I added you to my reader.
