I’m feeling extra stressed and really down today, so I need to vent for a minute.
In no particular order...
As many of you know, I moved at the end of May, which was stressful enough. Oddly, I haven't received any mail since. I understand that forwarded mail can take time, but even mail with my new address on it isn’t being delivered. I’ve contacted the post office three times and have Informed Delivery set up, so I can see photos of letters that are supposedly “coming soon.” Apparently, “soon” means never.
It has now been six weeks without mail and seven weeks since I submitted my change of address. I have seen letters from the DMV and the IRS, which we all know can be time-sensitive. So that’s fun.
I also haven't published a book since November. Just haven't had much time to write this year, and this makes me sad in my heart.
Our new home has also been invaded by ants and spiders—mostly ants—since we moved in. I’ve contacted the management company three times asking for a one-time pest-control service, and they haven’t replied. Since we’re new tenants, I feel like the owner or management company should pay for it. The ants were not listed as roommates.
Then yesterday, my debit card number was stolen. The bank alerted me that someone tried to buy $70 worth of movie tickets online five times. Guess they really wanted to see a movie!
Thankfully, the transactions were declined, and the bank automatically canceled my card. They said they’ll mail me a new one, but since I don’t get any mail, that may be a slight problem. Especially since I have subscriptions linked to that card that will now start getting declined. Ugh.
And to my dismay, I gained back three pounds, so that’s making me feel discouraged about my diet. Apparently, those three pounds missed me and decided to come home. I was taking Zepbound, but I can no longer afford it, and my insurance won’t cover it even though my doctor prescribed it. On the bright-side, I have lost twenty pounds overall. So…a win-loss situation?
And because apparently the universe isn't finished with me, a week before we moved, I shut off all the utilities at my old address and received confirmations. But when I went to pay my electric bill, it said my old address was still active. I am not paying for electricity at two locations!
So yeah, I'm in a funk.
Thanks for letting me rant. To cheer me up, comment with a funny GIF or show me a pic of your pet.
That is all.
